About Us

Beyond Bereavement began with lived experience and a question.

I was 26 when my dad passed away. His wishes were clear, his affairs were in order, and my mom was supported. Watching her move forward with stability showed me what thoughtful preparation can make possible even in the midst of grief.

Years later, I experienced loss in a very different way.

While seven months pregnant with my third child, my mother-in-law passed away suddenly. There was no roadmap. No clear understanding of what needed to happen next. I found myself supporting my father-in-law as he attended meetings, searched for documents, and made decisions. This was done while grieving, while supporting my husband, and while holding space for children who had just lost their grandmother.

I remember sitting in a bank, overwhelmed and deeply pregnant, thinking:
There has to be someone else who can do this

The professionals existed. But the space between grief and action the organizing, the understanding of sequence, the “what comes next” was missing.

That moment planted the seed for Beyond Bereavement.

Today, Beyond Bereavement exists to provide families with compassionate, non-advisory guidance during one of life’s hardest seasons. We help organize information, clarify next steps, and connect families with trusted professionals offering a steady presence when everything feels uncertain.

Whether a loss is expected or sudden, our goal is the same: to meet families where they are, offer kindness without pressure, and help them move forward with clarity and support.
